What ever you choose to call this little terrier, they are lovable, happy, playful dogs all the time.
I raise the well known JACK RUSSELL SHORTY and the more less known breed, The HUNT JACK RUSSELL.
The JACK RUSSELL SHORTY is which is what it states, a shorter legged breed with a longer body. Their body stands between 8 and 12 inches at the withers. They are sturdy, balanced terriers with bodies that are slightly longer than the length of the legs.
These wonderful dogs come in three different coat types; smooth (recessive), broken (intermediate), and rough (coarse, longer straight hair, dominant over smooth). All of these coats shed, however, smooth coats tend to shed the most.
Their coloring can be white with up to 50% color such as, white with black or tan markings, or a combination of these, which is referred to as "tri-color". Colors are clear. The shorties tend to have more color to them than the Parsons.
If you are considering owning one of these RAD dogs but still have questions, give me a call at (425)577-1520 or email me at janet@radjackrussells.com.

This breed has been known by names such as the Old English Black and Tan Terrier, the Irish Black and Tan Terrier and the Black and Tan Jack Russell. Today they're known as Black and Tan Jacks in Ireland and Hunt Terriers in the U.S.
General Description
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The German Hunt Terrier is a small, perky terrier with lots of personality. A round head leads to their medium-length rectangular muzzle. Large round eyes and sweet expressions can make any owner be under their control. Small folded ears sit on top of their head. A skinny neck leads to their narrow chest and shoulders and their sunken stomach. Thin legs lead to small rabbit-shaped feet. Covering their body is sleek fur which is short and similar to a Doberman Pinscher’s. Even the color looks like a Doberman’s, because it is black and tan.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's coat should be harsh and rough like that of other wire-haired terriers.
Rough, broken and smooth coats are all acceptable in this breed.
Today's American Hunt Terrier is bold, notoriously fearless, loyal, friendly, active, and alert.
His swift and fluid movements match his intelligent expression.
The American Hunt Terrier is a well balanced terrier, small, yet strong and agile terrier, a little
longer than tall.
Chest is deeper than it is wide, legs are well muscled and half the terrier’s height.
The head has a moderately broad, flat skull with button drop ears.
